Examples:
I have adopted a female Basset Hound puppy.
I want to call her Sara. She is brown and white, very shy.
I had looked at a lot of different breeds before I found Sara,
it was love at first sight. I bought her from a breeder in
Oklahoma. I want to have a nice name for her registration
papers. Her mother's name is Little Lizzie Lou. Her father's
name is Scott's Bubba Clifton. I would like to incorporate
their names into hers somehow.
First Suggestion: Sarandipity Bubba Lou
Serendipity means you found something special
that you didn't even know was out there. Bubba from the father's
name and Lou from the mother's. Bubba Lou does sound like
a Basset Hound from the south. And you can call her Sara.
Second Suggestion: Que Sara Little Bubba
Que Sera means whatever will be will be. It
was destiny that you found this puppy. With Little from the
mother's name, Bubba from the father's. Still calling her
Sara.
The first suggestion was accepted.
I have just brought home a Yellow Labrador Retreiver
puppy. He is a bundle of joy. I have been calling him all
kinds of different names but nothing seems to stick. On his
papers his sires name is, Jumping Jake Flash IV and his dams
name is Sheila's Golden Nina. I have been thinking of naming
him some name from the chessboard but I don't want King.
First Suggestion: Bishop's Flash O'Gold
Bishop is a name of a chess piece, Flash from
the father's name and Gold from the Golden in the mother's
name. I like seeing a yellow lab with gold in his name. Once
he is older and running he will look like a flash o'gold too.
This suggestion was accepted. The owner often calls him Bish
or Bishy. This name stuck.
I have just bought a Great Pyrenees puppy; he
will grow to be a very large pure white dog. Everyone is calling
him Bear. I'm not very pleased with this name even though
it does fit with his big wooly appearance. If I don't come
up with a short catchy name I'm afraid I will end up with
a dog named Bear.
First Suggestion: Yogi
This suggestion was accepted with great delight.
